A motorcycle balaclava is a thin under-helmet liner that prevents the helmet padding from absorbing sweat and odour, extends the life of your helmet's internal liner, and adds a layer of comfort and warmth on cold Kenyan highland roads. The Bike Yard stocks balaclavas in a range of materials, lightweight polyester for warm riding, moisture-wicking fabrics for active off-road use, and fleece-lined options for cold riding at altitude. Full-face balaclavas also offer a degree of abrasion resistance if worn under a modular or open-face helmet. Prices range from KES 800 to KES 3,500 depending on material and coverage. We recommend keeping two balaclavas per rider so one can be washed while the other is in use, helmet padding absorbs far less odour when a liner is used regularly.
