Motorcycle saddlebags are paired bags that drape over the rear seat or mount to the passenger pegs, significantly expanding carrying capacity for touring and camping trips. Unlike a top box, saddlebags sit lower on the bike for better centre-of-gravity balance, and most can be quickly removed and carried like a shoulder bag when you arrive. The Bike Yard Kenya stocks throw-over saddlebags in soft textile and rigid hard-shell designs from Rhinowalk, Oxford and SW-Motech, in capacities from 10 to 40 litres per side. Waterproof roll-top models are recommended for riding through Kenya's long rains. Prices range from KES 5,500 to KES 38,000. Soft saddlebags should always be fitted with anti-sag straps that pass under the bike to prevent the bags swinging into the rear wheel, these are included with all sets we sell.
